FAQs

How does instrument rental work?

You choose the instrument that suits your needs, place your order online, and receive it securely packed with the items listed on the product page. The rental then continues according to the terms shown for that product and the wider site policies.

What is included with my rental?

This depends on the instrument, but each product page explains exactly what is included. Typical items may include the instrument itself, a protective case, and relevant beginner accessories.

Are your instruments suitable for beginners?

Yes. Our launch range is aimed primarily at beginners, school learners, and adults returning to music. Product pages explain who each instrument is most suitable for.

Is there a minimum rental term?

Any minimum term or rental structure will be shown clearly on the relevant product page and in the site terms. We want pricing and commitments to be understandable before you order.

Is there a deposit or security fee?

A security deposit will be required on all purchases and this will be applied automatically when you add an instrument rental to your basket. The deposit amount varies by instrument and is stated clearly on each instrument rental page.

Can adults rent too?

Absolutely. Own Tempo Music is not only for children. Renting can also be a sensible option for adults returning to music, trying a new instrument, or easing back into regular playing.

Will my instrument be brand new?

In some cases a brand new instrument will be issued to you but the majority of our stock are instruments which have been serviced by a professional. They will be supplied with two reeds, valve oil or rosin where appropriate. Woodwind instruments will be supplied with a cleaning cloth.

Are these suitable for school music lessons?

Yes. Many learners begin through school or peripatetic lessons, and our rental options are designed to be practical for that kind of use.

How does delivery work?

Orders are packed securely and dispatched according to the delivery information published on the site. Please check the delivery page for current dispatch expectations and any location-specific details.

What happens if the instrument arrives damaged?

If anything arrives damaged or there is a problem with the order, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can investigate and put things right.

Can I cancel my rental?

Please refer to the returns and cancellation page for the current process and any notice requirements. We aim to explain this clearly so customers know what to expect.

How do returns work?

Returns should be made in line with the instructions on the returns page. That page explains the basic steps, customer responsibilities, and what to do when your rental comes to an end.

Do I need my own accessories?

That depends on the instrument. Product pages explain what is included. In some cases, you may wish to buy consumable or personal-use accessories separately.

What happens if the instrument is damaged during the rental?

Please contact us promptly if damage occurs. The exact approach will depend on the nature of the issue and the terms of the rental agreement.

I am not sure which instrument to choose. Can I ask for advice?

Yes. If you are unsure where to start, feel free to get in touch before ordering and we will do our best to help.
